1. Continue dead-heading faded flowers
2. Scatter wood ash or sulphate of potash on your rose beds and mix in
3. Prune hardy herbaceous plants
4. Remove fading annuals and plant hardy biennual varietys
5. If you have fish, start feeding program for autumn
6. Plant-out spring flowering bulbs
7. Plant evergreen shrubs in the latter part of the month
8. Continue to water the garden during dry spells
